I have always been a fan of Swedish design. It’s clean simplicity, that feeling of calm, has always attracted me.

I found these great interior shots via DESIGN LOVE FEST!

Pictures speak a thousand words!!

This is a great room to relax in…loving the pewter accents and lack of clutter. I especially like the way the books are stacked…which also adds a touch of color. The addition of wooden chests adds warmth.

Found this great photo which includes an awesome bookshelf on Design Love Fest this morning.

Retro is what makes me drawn to this space…and the crisp simplicity!

Love this watercolor match to the room too!  Happy Tuesday everyone!

These photos speak a thousand words for a simply good feeling in a personal space.  Something I have noticed in these photos, and that I am actually utilizing in my new apartment,  is the use of natural woven objects…baskets, hats, blinds, etc.  I am enjoying the feeling it evokes.  I want to thank emmas designblogg…a great Swedish blog…for these photos.  She also has a great Pinterest.  Happy creating!

I’m finally getting ready to move into a new apartment, and am gathering photos that inspire.  I came across this photo from Metropolis Magazine for NY Design Week.  If I could only keep it simple and airy as this pic…I could reach my goal.

Moving is always a good time to streamline and a great chance to freshen your apartment.

Name dropping…marcel breuer, poul kjaerholm , jean prouvé jesus and mary! Oh my…but if you can’t get the real thing, going to treasure marts and second hand shops, if you will, you might be able to put this together ‘snap’! I love this room a lot. This is a fun way to put together an apartment.

If you have some spring freshening up to do, here are some ‘neutral’ ways to brighten up your apartment.  With spring here, I am in the mood for sunlight and a feeling of clean.  I have the urge to purge all of my unwanted items and refresh my space.  These looks are inspiring me, and maybe they will have the same effect on  you.  HAPPY SPRING EQUINOX!

Not only do I love the white drawing-like painting in the room, but I especially like the splash of orange.  It is a ‘feel good’ color.  I relate it to the Sacral Chakra, SVADISTHANA, ones own abode (if you are into that). But if that is not  your thing,  it just adds a great punch to a room.  I use it in my space and it definitely has a pleasant effect.

Classic and clean, a look I can always live with.  Fine art always adds a finishing touch, along with a very special rug.

One of my favorite blogs is The Tao of Dana.  I have her to thank for these great pics of animal prints to excite a room.  With Valentine’s Day coming, we can add fire without using the color red or pink…try animal prints.   She says, “…animal prints can be a sexy way to add fire when you don’t want so much color. For many- like myself- you can “feel” more fire from an exotic print than from pure color.  Also, it doesn’t take much leopard, panther, tiger or zebra to make a very big statement.  I’ve collected some inspiring ways to bring the exotic fire of safari indoors for you, so keep reading… !”.
